Moaning in the Streets

Bismillah Walhamdulillah

Was just inspired to make this blog more personal. So far I have mostly just been posting things online that I have a special connection with, so if someone knows me well enough, they may guess exactly who I am, but let’s give it a shot at the real personal-ness.

What’s going on right now?

Right now I am sitting at my desk, on my laptop, I do that a lot actually. It is bliss. It is almost afternoon, and so everyone is fast asleep (I know, that’s not a good thing, but at least I have hours of bliss all to myself). As you can see, I do enjoy being alone.

Outside of my window I heard a terrible moaning/chanting sound, and it echoed, so I knew there was a microphone involved. And thought to myself, “I wonder if that is what the caller on the Day of Judgment will sound like.” But he won’t need a microphone. (And who is the caller? Can someone answer that? Is it Israfil? Has this info been revealed to us?)

So it turned out that the noise was coming from an assembly of Muslims, coming together in the streets to celebrate the Mawlid of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. wa Allahul Mustaan (And Allah’s Assistance is sought)

To explain how I feel about innovations, I would need more time than I have to write this post.

They are celebrating his birthday, out of love, they claim. And yet they don’t follow his sunnah. And yet they don’t strive to be like those who really loved him, sallallahu alayhi wasallam, like Abu Bakr As-Sidiq, Umar ibn Al Khattab, radiallahu ta’ala anhum. And yet do things that they know he would never have done. And they say things that they would have never said in front of him, sallallahu alayhi wasallam.

May Allah guide them and us to the true sunnah. Ameen
