“The Good and the Wise Lead Quiet Lives”

Try to develop an observant character; look, listen and think before acting or speaking. This is character-building and allows you to absorb and benefit from your surroundings before adding to it.

No-one really likes a chatterbox, and after some time, people stop listening to them. But if you notice, it’s the quiet ones that get full attention when they finally do speak :) So observe silence and some quietness (unless you have something good to say) and you will soon inculcate wisdom into your character.

And it’s a real blessing if that kind of behaviour comes naturally…when you don’t have to TRY to be quiet or observant because that’s just the way you are.

True, but subhanallah, every good characteristic is something that can be developed within a person who is willing to fight their natural inclinations to continue doing what they do
